The Amsterdams

We’re five guys from five different Romanian cities that met in Bucharest. Discovering a common taste in music, we got together and jammed for a couple of months before deciding we’re forming a band.
We had our first concert in early 2006. They said we’re the first Romanian indie band.
In 2008 we got used to playing on bigger scenes. The Amsterdams are a part of the biggest Romanian music festivals line-ups, next to Faithless, The Dandy Warhols, Stereophonics, Kaiser Chiefs, Roisin Murphy and we are invited to play in France at EuropaVox Festival.
We release our first album in 2009 – Adolessons Late fall we return to studio to record new songs. We met Daniel Boeckner (Handsome Furs, Wolf Parade) and he joins us in the studio to record one song. He invites us to support Wolf Parade on thei European Tour which we do in May 2010. We play in Budapest, Prague, Salzburg, Turin, Bologna. On the 20th July 2010, the band performed for the first time in front of thousands of people as opening act for The Cranberries. We’ Discography
